That’s Theo our Great Pyrenees mix enjoying shade in the back of my truck on a hot summer’s day.
I thought Theo was a Great Pyrenees. However, he’s almost two and not ‘fluffing out’ like a Great Pyrenees. I think he’s a Great Pyrenees with some Golden Retriever mixed in.
Theo is an incredibly intelligent, patient and loving 90 lb boy. He wants nothing more than to be where I am.
Last week I dropped the kids off at camp with Theo riding shotgun. When we returned Theo didn’t want to get out of the truck.
He knew I’d be heading out soon enough or perhaps he simply enjoys the cozy spot in the back of the truck. Whatever the reason, Theo wasn’t coming out.

There is no doubt our dogs are great companions. It has been pretty cold down here of late even a bit of snow. My dog acts as a four legged thermometer as when it gets very cold in the morning she wants to hop up on the bed with me.
Sounds like you’ve got a great companion there. Theo isn’t a snuggler like that. He likes to lay on my feet though.
John I am sure that Theo must have seen the old Mortein Ad “When you’re on a good thing. Stick to it.”. I am sure that he knows just when the boss is going out and is making sure that he does not forget his most important “work tool” – – – – THEO.
Theo has figured out my schedule very nicely. He can even tell what I’m up to by what I’m wearing. The family got very lucky with Theo.
To Rod; “cold down here…even a bit of snow.” WOW SNOW!!?? Where in the world do you live??!! The South Pole?! Lol, just kidding, that actually sounds kinda nice. Here in New England we’ve been experiencing multiple heat waves with temps in the ninety’s accompanied by high humidity for days! The humidity is the worst part! To John; Theo IS incredibly intelligent which is exactly why he didnt get out. He KNEW you were going to be leaving again soon and didnt want to be left behind! PLUS it was so hot outside and hed been enjoying the comfort of the A/C in the truck I bet.
Heather, I could be wrong. I think Mark is in Austrailia. I didn’t realize you were in England. It’s amazing how the internet can connect three different continents. We’ve had a warm couple weeks here in Connecticut (USA). It’s been in the upper 80’s to low 90’s with unbearable humidity. It’s ok to stand in the shade but once you exert yourself you heat up fast.
Hi Heather I live in Australia. It has been a very wet winter down here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuY-XIWz7HA
My 1st time on your page. Was researching ways 2get rid of leaves/brush&came across ur YouTube video. I enjoyed watching it because I could tell you’re a very knowledgeable, hardworking, educated person & so I knew right away i wanted to hear your ideas. Thank you for ur detailed tips!
Thank you Heather. Were you watching the video about how to load brush into a pickup truck? That’s an oldie but a goodie.
Theo looks like a great companion. I think having a dog makes us better humans — “studies show.” Shared affection, built in activity & velvet ears for stroking. Need I say more? Plus I always looked better when my dog was by my side.
Watering the landscaping in Ohio where it’s been hot and without rain for weeks!!
I agree having a dog makes us better humans. Have you ever heard the saying, “I wish I could be the person my dog thinks I am.” Theo is a hoot. He loves everyone he meets and is a gentle soul.
We got some nice thunderstorms and downpours over the last week but things are drying out again. The humidity is down the past couple days thank goodness.
What a cutie! Totally agree that dogs bring out the best in us. Everyone should have a best friend like yours 🙂
Dogs are very cool for sure!
