Plants Want to Grow

Onions growing in kitchen

Plants amaze me.

I spend a lot of time and effort making the best possible environment for my landscapes.  Then, I’ll be walking through the woods and see a tree growing out of a boulder.

You almost have to go out of your way to kill a plant.

These onions growing in my kitchen are a great example of a plants wish to live.

Red Amaryllis
Bonus photo: This red Amaryllis graces my kitchen counter. If you’ve never grown an Amaryllis pick one up. They’re a lot of fun to grow and hard to kill.

I agree with you nature is wonderful. Just last week, when I was out in the bush, I came across a wind/snow fall gumtree. Out of its up ended base [root ball] a new tree was growing. It was almost like one of the roots had sprouted and decided to take over as the leader.
That is a great photograph of your red Amaryllis.

Rod, I had to take the link to the picture out. That’s very cool how a tree was growing out of the upended roots. Nature never ceases to amaze me.
